COVID-19 Update
Parkwood School’s first priority has always been the health, safety, and well-being of the students, families, and staff. Because the information surrounding the spread and impact of the coronavirus is still being evaluated, Parkwood School will NOT have an in-person school for the Spring 2021 school session. We realized this creates a hardship for everyone involved but this is to protect everyone in our community. Please see the Virtual Spring 2021 Program tab for information.
We will reevaluate the situation in June 2021.
Philosophy

Parkwood is developmental in its philosophy; we offer an activities-centered developmental program with emphasis on the skills appropriate to each age group as prescribed by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Individual readiness and maturity determine the educational approach and expectancy we adopt for each child. All areas of developmental -- social, emotional, physical, and intellectual are basic to program content. Equipment is age-appropriate.
Our goal for each child is to bring about a healthy, happy, adjustment to life through experience and professional guidance. We encourage each child to develop on his or her own time-table. We also work with parents and other agencies when appropriate to ensure that our children grow into happy, well-adjusted little people.
